Color My World week 2: decor item

This week I'm using my pink and orange combo in a decor item.  I found a rug at HomeGoods that I loved on sight, and was the inspiration for the color challenge.

The rug was 96 inches long, and was a bit too long for the space.  I cut it down so that it fit just inside the room, and hot glued the edges under.

There was a big piece of rug left over....this seems like it could be a wall decor item, doesn't it?  I think it will go on the wall over the towel rack, once I figure out if I should frame it or mount it.

Next week I'll be using pink and orange paint.  Nothing like an orange toilet to perk up a room.

I forgot to mention last week that at the end of this challenge there will be a linky party where you can show everyone how you added color to your room!

Love this rug! What a great idea to cut it down. I think it would make nice pillow front too. What a fun challenge.

okay, i'm in love with that rug! I love pink and orange combos right now so much. I love that you cut the rug down to size. I can't wait to see what you come up with for the remnant. It's going to look awesome!

Can't wait to see your finished product. I just found you over at Living Savvy. Your blog's title cracked me up and had to check it out. I had a cousin trapped in North Jersey forever, lol. Great stuff. I'll be following along for sure.

What a great find! I love that rug, it's so bright and fun. An orange toilet would be quite interesting, that's for sure. ;)

The rug is perfect! I love the design... it will be perfect! Maybe in four smaller white frames? Or glued to wood with a white boarder on the edges? Can't wait to see the paint!
