Highwaters
Every spring, my kids go through a growth spurt. Or at least they have for the past five years. This inevitably leaves me scrambling to find long pants in March, when the stores have all brought out their "resort wear!" clothing. I don't need madras shorts in March in New Jersey, people. I need sweatpants for at least another two months.
This year, Greg's growth spurt seems to be on the slow side. His good school pants are not unacceptably dorky, and we could probably squeak through till spring. Except for this:

Every. Single. Pair. He. Owns.
What ON EARTH is he DOING to all his pants???? Why have SEVEN pairs of school pants received holes in the knees in the past month??
"I don't know. They just have a hole in them?"
Wish me luck in finding a few pairs of pants to tide us over until shorts weather.
PS. If you are wondering why didn't I buy pants ahead, since I knew about the yearly growth spurt--I did--he hasn't grown enough to get into the next size up. He needs new pants in the same size, without holes in the knees.

Just get some iron on patches for the knees and hold off for a little while! That kid must be walking on his knees all day :)
