Greg's birthday party

I read a ton of design blogs, and many of them seem to have young kids, and their birthday parties are a design delight, all styled and colorful and oh-so-perfect. The cupcakes are adorable, the bunting matches the napkins, there are cute invitations and even the food sticks to the theme. 

This is not one of those blogs.

While I greatly enjoy decorating my house, I find throwing pretty parties to be stressful. I love having family over but I can barely put together a Thomas the Train party.  But I went all out this year---balloons, tablecloths (!!), even a Thomas the Train banner.  I think a good time was had by all.
